Badger Development Update

Hello Mount Horeb Youth Basketball Families,

In a normal year, the start of school means the start of the basketball planning process.  However, given the unique and strange times that we are currently living in, this isn’t happening.  The Basketball Club has been getting questions around what the season will look like.  Unfortunately, a lot of unknowns still exists but we would like to share with everybody what we know.

  1. The buildings in the Mount Horeb School District are currently unavailable through the first quarter so we will not be holding the parent meeting and evaluations as we had planned.
  2. Until the school district makes a decision on the second quarter, we don’t know what the availability of district facilities will be November through the end of the year.
  3. Even if the district facilities are opened up, we are not sure what the availability of the facilities will be because of the shift of fall sports to the spring.
  4. The BDL is planning on a January through March season.

If you are going to be comfortable having your son/daughter participate in the basketball program if/when we are given the OK, please sign up with the recreation department.  The program is currently set-up as a wait list program so no need to pay for the program at this time.  By doing this, we will have an idea of how many kids we need to plan for.  Even though we are not sure what the season will look like this year, the club will need to start the planning process so that if we can have a season we are ready to go.

As we know more, we will post the information to the website so please check back often.

Please stay safe.

Thanks,

Mount Horeb Basketball Club
